First batch I made curled at the edges within a week because I used bargain pouches. Switched materials and now these tags survive backpacks, spilled juice, and a full year of handling by six-year-olds.

Regular printer paper turns into a floppy mess inside a laminating pouch. Learned that the hard way when my first batch looked like wet napkins.

Nothing worse than spending an hour writing names in cute lettering only to watch the ink smear the second heat hits it. Tested probably eight markers before landing on these.

Pins are a hard no with kindergartners. Lanyards turned into jump ropes within five minutes. Clips that slide onto shirt collars were the answer nobody told me about.

Scissors left my first tags looking like a toddler cut them. Rounded corners and straight lines make them look like you actually know what you're doing.

Made beautiful tags once, threw them in a drawer, and then couldn't find them when Valentine's Day rolled around. Now everything lives in one labeled box and setup takes five minutes.

My handwriting looked fine until I saw it laminated and magnified. Switched to printing templates and suddenly I looked like the Pinterest-level volunteer parent.

A plain white rectangle with a name on it gets ripped off in thirty seconds. Add a sticker or a themed border and suddenly every kid wants to keep theirs on all day.
