Best Sweat-Wicking Athleisure for Hot Yoga & Pilates

Purple Star emoji 15 items
My favorite shorts, tops, and workout essentials that actually survive hot yoga and hot pilates. Sweat-wicking, comfortable, flattering, and tested through very sweaty classes.

Longline Sports Bras

Longline bras and bra tanks for people who sweat a lot in heated studio classes and don’t want to wear an extra tank.

Traveling Well profile picture
My go-to when I want more hold without going full high-impact bra.

Compared to the regular Energy Bra, the longline version feels more like a cropped top, which is nice when I don’t want to layer a tank over it. Compared to softer bras like Align, this has more hold for heated Pilates, sculpt, or faster classes wher...

What makes it different: It gives you the most balanced mix of support + coverage + studio comfort.

My Athleta longline pick to fit my sweat-wicking list.

Compared to softer studio bras, this one has a clearer performance story: breathable, quick-drying, and made to pull sweat away. I’d compare this to the Energy Longline when I want longline coverage with enough support for hot yoga or hot Pilates.

I’d choose this when I want longline coverage, sweat-wicking fabric, and enough support for hot yoga or hot Pilates. I would not wear this for a heated bootcamp.
Athleta | Perfect Form Longline Bra

Yes, it's not a sports bra. It’s better for hot Pilates, warm yoga, and lower-to-medium intensity studio days than for your most intense sweat class.

It’s technically a cropped tank, but it has built-in support, moisture-wicking fabric, and enough coverage to wear on its own. Feels softer and less performance-compressive.

I’d use it for hot Pilates, yoga, or warm studio days when I want comfort, coverage, and a top I can wear on its own.

More coverage than the longline bras, but still not a full tank.
Beyond Yoga | Spacedye Slim Racerback Cropped Tank

Yes, not a sports bra, it's technically a tank.

Best sculpted bra-tank option for hot Pilates. This is the Alo pick I’d use if I want that sleek, polished studio look but still want more coverage than a regular sports bra.
Compared to the Lululemon Energy Longline, this feels more like a true outfit piece.
Compared to the Beyond Yoga cropped tank, it has a more sculpted, performance look.

I’d wear this for hot Pilates or a sweatier sculpt-style class when I want something flattering, fitted, and easy to wear on its own.

Nike has really stepped up its yoga and Pilates game!

Nike may not be the first brand people think of for Pilates/Yoga outfits, but I think their pieces have gotten a lot stronger!

This longline bra gives sweat-wicking performance, more coverage than a regular sports bra, and a simple athletic feel that works even if you usually shop Lululemon, Alo, or Athleta.

This one feels like it was actually made for the very sweaty classes.

This is the “my cute soft bra is not cutting it today” pick. I’d wear this for the hotter, harder Pilates classes when I want more support but don’t want to feel trapped in a stiff running bra. It gives longline coverage, feels more secure, and lets ...

Shorts

The lululemon Wunder Train 4" shorts are my baseline for hot yoga and hot pilates. The 4" inseam works really well for me, but I know shorter lengths can ride up or feel too short for some people.

I bought similar workout shorts across different brands and pulled together the ones that compare best to Wunder Train in fabric, compression, sweat-wicking, and hot studio performance. Some feel sleeker, some are more compressive, some have pockets,...

My go-to shorts for intense sweaty workouts. They’re sweat-wicking, have that held-in feeling, and actually stay put during movement.

No pockets, but you're not reaching for your phone in hot pilates anyway. These are the ones I grab when it's a dedicated workout session.

If Wunder Train is the practical sweaty-workout short, Alo Airlift is the more polished studio version. Sculpting, sleek, and very cute for hot pilates. Sleeker, shinier, more sculpted.

These are my “bougie shorts”, the ones I pull when I want to feel extra… like I actually planned my outfit instead of just grabbing whatever was clean for my workout.
Alo Yoga | 5" Airlift Energy Short

Probably the closest Athleta comparison to Wunder Train. It has a sleek, compressive training feel, plus a little more coverage with the 5" inseam. I’d pick this if you want a similar hot studio short but want something outside of lululemon.

It has pockets, and it’s usually easier to catch on sale than lululemon.
Athleta | Interval High Rise 5"

Compared to Wunder Train, these feel like the practical British cousin. (Sweaty Betty is a British brand)

Still supportive and workout-ready, but the big win is pockets. I’d wear these when I want that same “I’m here to sweat” energy, but also want somewhere to put a key.

Nike Universa has less of that firm Everlux squeeze. It still feels supportive, but more like a smooth athletic short that moves with you instead of that tighter, snatched-in-place Wunder Train feeling.

The biggest win is the no-front-seam design, which helps avoid that awkward front seam/camel toe situation. IYKYK.

Aritzia GloTone has a similar sweat wicking, body hugging performance feel, but with a sleeker finish and subtle shine. Wunder Train feels cooler and more firmly compressive, while GloTone feels smoother and more polished.

No front seam design is a win!

LNDR Chisel is the serious compression upgrade. It has that slick, cool performance feel, but with a more locked-in tight fit.

I sized up because I like my compression a little softer, which I know kind of defeats the purpose of Chisel. I just like being able to breathe while being humbled in my heated bootcamp classes.

Leggings

Sometimes shorts are not the move. But full leggings in a heated class can go wrong fast if the fabric gets heavy, slides down, shows every sweat mark, or clings in all the wrong places. These are my leggings I use for hot yoga and hot Pilates when I...

Everyone sleeps on this for hot yoga because they think it's a loungewear legging.

It's not…. the Nulu fabric is actually thinner and more breathable than Lululemon's own Wunder Train, which means it vents heat instead of trapping it.

One rule: dark colors only. Sweat shows badly on anything light.

For heated boot camp or sculpt, the Wunder Train holds you in better.

Best for: Bikram, hot flow yoga, long heated vinyasa. The "I need to actually breathe in here" pick.
lululemon | Align High-Rise Pant 25"

The one legging that handles hot yoga Tuesday, heated sculpt Thursday, and reformer Pilates Saturday without complaining. Everlux fabric earns its "fastest-drying" claim. It soaks up sweat, dries fast, waistband stays locked, never goes sheer.

For those shorter, harder, hotter classes where you need to feel held in? This wins.

Best for: heated sculpt, hot Pilates, hot HIIT, reformer Pilates. The overachiever pick for people taking multiple hot classes a week.
