What I appreciate about Chautauqua is how close it is to where I live. There's so many trails to choose from and it's dog friendly.

Probably my favorite place to go in Denver. I've been a member for years and love all the exhibits, whether they're permanent or rotating. The atrium has an AMAZING view of the city and I could spend hours sitting and reading there.
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
If you like small town vibes and outdoor activities, this is the place for you! My favorite hike is Adam's Falls, right outside the town.
Grand Lake
One of my favorite hikes in Colorado. You can make this as short or long as you want to. Less than a mile to the falls, then you can just keep going as long as you'd like.
Adams Falls in Grand Lake, Colorado
One of the best zoos I've ever been to. I've had a membership for years and go whenever I feel like getting out of the house. Their Zoo Lights at the end of the year are a wonderful experience to include for your whole family!
Denver Zoo
Of course you have to go to the Stanley when you visit Colorado! Eat at one of their many restaurants, grab a coffee from their on site shop, or take a spooky tour!
The Stanley Hotel
This is an amazing way to get a view of Pikes Peak. It goes all the way to the top, where there is a visitor center. Please be aware that altitude sickness is a very real thing and to be careful.
The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway
Open on the weekends during summer, the Colorado Renaissance Festival is a great place to see fun shows, eat some tasty treats, and see amazing artisans with their ware! Be sure to stay hydrated, as it can get quite hot.
Colorado Renaissance Festival
One of my favorite places to just go walk around, grab a bite to eat, and check out the farmers market or any craft events. The view of the Flatirons is incredible from any of the rooftop restaurants!
Insider's Guide to Pearl Street
When visiting Colorado, OF COURSE you have to visit RMNP! The hiking trails are almost endless and have different levels for different people. You are required to reserve a time during summer, so be prepared before coming out!
Rocky Mountain National Park
This is such a unique zoo experience! I splurged on a behind the scenes tour with my nieces and it was amazing! Since the zoo is built on the side of a mountain, expect to be walking up hills.
