This zoo is so much fun with kids! The animals are up close so you can really see and interact with them. Our favorite part was Australia with the kangaroos running around with no fence! It was so cool!

This free art center was so unique and did I say free?? They kids get to go and make anything they want in the allotted 50 minutes from leftover and scrap materials from Hallmark. You don’t need a reservation but should arrive early before the time s...
Hallmark Kaleidoscope
We also stopped by the Central Library to grab a drink from the cafe and check out the fascinating book parking garage! The kids section inside was also fun with free chess and checkers and giant legos.
Central Library
There was so much to do at Science City in Union Station! The kids were playing and having fun and didn’t even realize they were learning too 😏 it was a beautiful day so we spent a lot of time outside on their play area with a zip line. I wish we co...
Science City - Powered By Burns & McDonnell | Union Station KC
This place was a nostalgia stop for my husband who spent his youth at Minsky’s after baseball — but the food was delicious!
Home
Another nostalgia stop for us! Everyone enjoyed their food and they even had some games in the back!
Charlie Hooper's - Historic Brookside, Kansas City, MO
We stopped at this cute book store in Lee’s Summit and let the kids each pick out a book. They even had some educational toys and children’s books for our toddler to choose from!

Another little stop in downtown Lee’s Summit. Coffee is a MUST for me and I wanted to try something local. I loved it so much I bought a bag of coffee beans to bring home with me!
Whistle Stop Coffee
Breakfast here was DELICIOUS! We got some cinnamon rolls to share as a starter and they were 🤌🏻
Waldo Café
A little fun touristy thing we did with the girls!

Things we didn’t do
We went to LEGOLAND Florida a few years ago so my kids were begging to go to this LEGOLAND in KC. VERY different places. I’m so glad we didn’t go — I got feedback from others who said it was a huge disappointment.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center Kansas City
Another thing we almost did but glad we didn’t! First off, the zoo has an an aquarium, so two birds one stone. Secondly, we heard it was also a bit of a letdown, that it was small and expensive so not worth the money.
SEA LIFE Kansas City Aquarium | Aquarium at the Crown Center
We reallyyyyyy wanted to go but it ended up snowing our last day so we just hung out with family instead. It looks like so much fun, and my son loves Dinos so I know it would have been a blast.
Prehistoric Putt Independence
We really wanted to go out and hike this trail + visit the labyrinth but it snowed and was negative wind chills! No thanks! But they have a coffee shop at the trailhead which — I’m sold.
Nature Trail
Another almost. It looks SUPER cool but I think littler kids would enjoy it. Our girls (9) aren’t into the kinds of books the exhibits show, so they wouldn’t been bored but the 3 year old would have loved it!
