Walking into leathercraft with zero knowledge was intimidating until I found kits that gave me just enough tools without drowning me in stuff I didn't understand yet.

Spent my first month cutting into the wrong leather and wondering why nothing looked right — turns out the type of hide matters way more than I assumed.

My first attempt at hand-stitching looked like a drunk spider walked across the leather. These supplies fixed that embarrassingly fast.

Nothing kills motivation faster than a wobbly cut on leather you just paid real money for. Took me three projects to figure out which blades actually stay sharp.

Raw edges on leather scream amateur. Figured that out when I proudly showed my first belt to a friend who does woodworking and he immediately pointed at the edges.

Cheap snaps and buckles will undermine hours of careful leatherwork. Found that out when a bag clasp I used turned green after one rainy walk.

Freehanding a wallet pattern my second week resulted in something that looked like a leather taco. Templates saved me from myself.

Started crafting on my kitchen table and ended up with cuts in the wood and wax on the counter. These solved the space problem without needing a garage workshop.
