Happy Girl Kitchen Co
Big Sur is definitely worth a day trip if not one extra overnight. It’s beautiful and foresty. Road can be rough or closed so always check before heading that way
Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park
While the trail does have rope to keep lanes and there are always a lot if people, the magic of this area makes up for it. You can spot tons of albatross, seals, sea otters. Hang out on the beach, walk the trails. It’s a gorgeous area.
Point Lobos State Natural Reserve
A great beach to take kids to, especially on a sunny day. No big waves, easy to play around
LOVERS POINT PARK & BEACH
The aquarium always feels special. It’s pricey but very cool and huge. The jellyfish are one of my favorite exhibits with how large it is and unique
Monterey Bay Aquarium
If traveling with kids, this park is huge and so cool. There are even little paddle boats you can rent to go on the pond. Very fun area
Dennis The Menace Playground
If you are into sea glass this cannot be beat. An insane amount on the beach
Marina State Beach
Great food. If warm enough, it’s nice to sit outside
Ambrosia India Bistro - Monterey
Great sushi and a relaxed vibe
Crystal Fish
Ok this one is a bit far, BUT it’s magical! Saw tons of condors, bats in the cage, amazing rock formations. It’s a big hike and not close but worth it if in the area for a while
Pinnacles National Park
Ok not necessarily this trail because Fort Ord has a million but these are great running trails
