Books for Toddlers

Kids will tear up books, want more books, read them and leave them alone forever but overall, to get them engaged and seeing the books, and hearing us read and letting them play, creates imagination and starts the journey of reading.  I didn't see the benefit when my first daughter was born, and she struggled in school for a while until we practiced over and over again.  For my son after, we made sure to read and we definitely saw a difference in his grades and engagement with books currently as a teen.  So now again, for my 2-year-old, I'm hoping to carry on reading as I saw first-hand how important reading was to get started.  Even if it doesn't seem like it helps, it does!

Toddler books

Most of these were purchased and kept and are still read.  My daughter is a fan of going to the book area, taking them all out and going through them herself in seconds.  When I go up to it, she gets excited every time and will sit for any book we read.  Just keep repeating the read and these few here, were always favorites.  Enjoy

We already love the TV show but this was fun because it mimics the songs.  She was a little over 1 possibly, we started reading this and others early on but this we shown the face ourselves as well - so once she was old enough, she started doing it and realizing emotions as well.  It was fun!

This was bought as a gift and if you're in the very first stages of reading, it was fun because the colors are vibrant, it's things the baby can easily grasp and it's not too much going, so it's easy for baby to focus.

I love these books and this one is cute and it also has an app online where the kids can engage in.  It's free but limits the stuff you do until you purchase but just using the free, our daughter enjoyed it so this book was perfect to match up with

We wanted someone my daughter knew and a book that was engaging, this was both.  So many flaps to unfold, lots of different scenes for her to read and while she's not potty trained yet, she still likes to see people use the bathroom lol

This is a large book, lots of buttons and lots to look at.  It was a bit intimidating for our daughter at first, I thought she'd love all the animals but we had to review it slowly for her attention span but once we did that, she could do all the animals herself and tell us each one
