Ancient Wonders
Ruins and old cities. Jordan's history hits different at every one.
This was my favorite place in the Jordan trip.
PETRA (ACTUALIZADO 2026) - Qué SABER antes de ir (con ...
The climb up to the top was easy enough if you do not look back . Once I was at the top, it took me half an hour to build enough courage.
Roman Theater
It was the first place I visited in Jordan amd the sheer majesty of the place made me feel small
Amman Citadel
One of the oldest roman ruins in Jordan. Good to visit, but not much to see since most ruins resemble nothing.
Jerash
It's at the other side of Petra, built for caravans at that time. The place has haunted air. We left within half an hour because the place felt very heavy.
Little Petra: Jordan's hidden gem
On my list for next visit. 12th-century Islamic fortress with forest views. A different Jordan than the desert sites.
Ajloun Castle, Ajlun
Want to see this one next time. Crusader-era castle with tunnels you can actually walk through.
Karak Castle
Roman ruins with a view over the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights. On the list for the history side of the next trip.
Umm Qais and cave of jesus excursion
Nature & Outdoors
Desert, salt water, hot springs, one canyon still on my list.
Night camping was amazing. The desert was superscary, and the sky was full of stars
Wadi Rum Protected Area
We literally watched coral through the glass bottom of our boat. All the colors you could imagine
Coral Reefs in the Red Sea
It's worth taking a dip, but don't expect to float immediately. I tried and almost drowned. The salt burned my eyes and throat, but the mud was supercool
Dead Sea Jordan
On the list for next time. Salt lake near the Dead Sea that turns pink from algae blooms. Want to see the color for myself.
Pink Lake
Canyon trek through the Jordan Trail, water up to your chest at points. Want to do this next time. Sounds intense.
Wadi Mujib and Siq Trail Hike
Religious and Sacred Sights
Some I've been to, some saved for next time.
There is a glass window in one of the graves. I could see the bones and skull inside
Cave of The Seven Sleepers
On the list for next time. Major Christian pilgrimage site, believed to be where Jesus was baptized on the Jordan River. Want to see it for myself.
Bethany Beyond the Jordan
The church has an amazing mosaic floor, and you can see right across at Palestine from the mount
Mount Nebo
The 6th-century mosaic map on the church floor is still intact. Hard to imagine it's that old while standing right on it.
St. George's Church Madaba
Amman & Markets
City stuff. What I've seen and what's still left.
On the list for next time. Houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Ain Ghazal statues. Some of the oldest human sculptures ever found. Missed it this trip, won't next time.
Amman Museum
Situated in the heart of Amman. Offers everything at half of the retail prices. Look especially for saffron, date cookies, mixed nuts and handmade soaps
Best Markets in Amman
The storybook town of our dreams
Aqaba
This is where Amman's food and nightlife scene lives. Saving it for a proper Amman weekend. I visited thrice. Amazing shopping options
